Denis of Center Street passed away at Bolster Heights Nursing Home.

He was born in Lewiston, the son of Donat and May (Comeau) Levesque. Donat Levesque was the Mayor of Lewiston from 1936 to 1939.

He attended St. Peter and Paul Primary School. Followed by high school level in Victoria Ville, P.Q., and completing his education at Lewiston High School. He graduated in 1942 with first honors and member of the national honor society.

Due to a handicap, he was unable to enlist into service during World War II; therefore he secured a job at the South Portland shipyard as a shipfitter. In 1945, he relocated to San Francisco, Calif. and worked at the naval shipyard after a 30-year career with the Navy Department. He retired in 1979, as a ship surveyor planner and estimator.

He was married for 36 years to Elva Robbins of Biddeford, who died in 1986. Since then he has traveled all over the world with a new life companion, Else Perkins-Martin. Due to failing health and the high cost of living in San Francisco and the Bay area, he returned to Auburn in 2001.
