Joe Edward Miller, a former longtime resident and businessman in Fort Worth, passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2004.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday in Brown, Owen & Brumley's Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church at Runaway Bay, 513 Port-O-Call Drive, Runaway Bay, Texas 76426.
Joe Edward Miller was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Gorman. He was a resident of Fort Worth for over 40 years. He was employed by Texas Electric and Lysaght Furniture Manufacturer. For 23 years he owned and operated Your House of Chairs at 2012 E. Rosedale St. and worked 10 years as a sales representative for Kirsch Fabrics in Dallas. Joe coached Little League baseball for many years at East Side Little League and Forest Hill Youth associations. He was an avid golfer and was a past member of Glen Garden Country Club and The Club at Runaway Bay. He played in the old Fort Worth men's fast pitch softball league and for many years was one of the premier pitchers in the area. He was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Runaway Bay.
Survivors: Wife of 59 years, Marian Miller of Runaway Bay; sons, Ron Miller and wife, Carol, of Austin, Rowe Miller and wife, Anita, of Santo and Regan Miller and wife, Robin, of New Braunfels; sister, Maydell Odom of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Rodney Miller of Dean, Rachele Miller of Belton, Kyle Miller of Saginaw, Terry Miller of Hammond, La., Mitzi Miller and Tiffany and Heather Aiken, all of Santo, and Joshua and Daniel Miller, both of New Braunfels; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
