Harry was a native of Wisconsin who moved to San Franscisco around 1909. He was a devoted bank employee who was honored with a Golden Anniversary for employment. He had been active in Masonic Lodge No. 354, F.&A.M.; San Franscisco chapter, No. 1 of the Royal Arch Masons; San Franscisco Commandery, No. 41, of the Knights of Templars, and the Islam Temple of the Shrine. Harry was also a member of the American Institute of Banking and an active member of Union Square Optimists club, and the Chamber of Commererce.

Harry remembered when horse-drawn cars were thee form of transportation in San Franscisco when he was a young paperboy who delivered newspapers in his neighborhood.
