George and his wife and 3 children (Gladys, Carl and Carol) moved from Michigan to Oregon about 1910, and then to California. George died in Colorado Springs, CO on 22 Oct 1929 where he was a patient in a TB Sanitorium. His body was returned to CA for burial.
The following information is adapted from his death notice in a newspaper in or near Eagle Rock, CA:
Funeral services were held at 1:30 Monday, October 28, 1929, for George H. Wolf; 2018 Ridgeview Avenue. Rev. Earl W. Haney, of the Eagle Rock Presbyterian Church, officiating. There were musical numbers by Mrs. Juanita West, organist, and Mrs. Paul Elderkin, soloist, who sang "O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go," and "Beulah Land." Unusually beautiful floral offerings were sent from numerous friends.
Mr. Wolf died October 22, at Modern Woodmen sanitarium at Woodmen, Colorado, after being confined to his bed there for 13 months. Mrs. Wolf was with him, having stayed near there since April.
Mr. Wolf was born in Holland, Michigan, in 1870. He was married to Emma A. Brandt, who survives him, in 1899. In 1916 he came to Eagle Rock, where he has since made his home. Since 1917 he has been in the employ of the Southern Pacific railroad company. Interment was made at Forest Lawn Cemetery."
