Wife of TSGT., Arthur Stanley Goldfinger

Machiko "Michi" TAKAOKA was born in Japan to Imahie or Imahei "Itsu" TAKAOKA and his wife Kazuko "Kazu" aka Mary MAJIME. Imahie was a Christian missionary who moved his family to California on 13 May 1919, where they arrived in San Francisco. At age 3 Michi was living in Los Angeles. Besides California she also lived in Chicago, Japan, Alabama, and Indianapolis. During WWII she, along with her mother and siblings, (her father had passed on) were interred at Manzanar Relocation Camp. As a young woman she was a dancer with Hoagy Carmichael and went by the Chinese name of "Lotus Joy". She worked for a time for a Quaker church in Richmond, IN. About 1961 she moved with her daughter to Japan and worked at a USAF base where she met her husband, Col. Arthur GOLDFINGER. He retired to Creola, AL and then moved to Indianapolis.
She married #1 William CHAMBERS- they had one daughter.

#3 Arthur GOLDFINGER- they had one son.
