Astoria, IL - Willis Tippey, 75, of 1006 E. Broadway died at 3:37 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

Born April 12, 1927, in Woodland Township in Fulton County to Clem and Grace May Dutton Tippey, he married Eileen Collins on Oct. 26, 1947, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are five daughters, Carol Del Santo of Herrin, Mrs. Ron (Mary Jo) Bates of Tuscon, Ariz., Mrs. George (Reta) Doubet of Astoria, Mrs. Kevin (Rita) Oliver of Canton and Mrs. Steve (Sandy) Wittig of Astoria; three sons, Allen (and Martha) and James (and Debbie), both of Rushville, and David (and Jerri) of Belleville; two brothers, Kenneth (and Connie) of Reedsport, Ore., and Ralph (and Lee) of Canton; 20 grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

He had been a farmer and an exterior decorator.

He also owned and operated Tippey's Concrete Products for 33 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a charter member of Astoria Lions Club, International Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodges of Vermont.

He was a member of Astoria United Methodist Church, where he served on the church board for more than 20 years.

Burial will be in Summum Cemetery.
