U.S. Congressman. After graduating from Kansas State College in 1929, he attended law school at Washburn University in 1938, graduated from the law school of George Washington University in 1944, was admitted to the bar and commenced to practice law in Kansas and the District of Columbia. He served as an Administrative assistant to Senator Clyde M. Reed from (1939-49) and Senator Andrew F. Schoeppel, (1949-62). He also served as delegate in the Republican National Convention, in 1960. In 1963, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-eighth Congress and to the next seven succeeding Congresses, serving until 1978. Not a candidate for reelection, he practiced law and lived in retirement until his death.
