Peggy was born Dec. 6, 1933, at Agra, Kan., to Vern and Frieda Braams Reed. As a child, she lived in Baltimore, Md., and was educated in Gibbon, Neb., graduating in 1952. She served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1952 until 1954, when she was honorably discharged. While in the military, she received a National Defense Service Medal. She lived in Okinawa, Japan, for a time. She had three sons and a daughter, Alan, Scott, Russell and Rennie. Peggy worked in a sheet metal factory in Salt Lake City, Utah, but spent most of her career working as a traffic manager for the Norbest Distribution Center. Peggy was dedicated to her pets. Her special cat, Katy, will miss her deeply. She was an avid gardener and knew all the botanical names of the plants she grew. She loved trivia.
Peggy is survived by her three sons, Alan Haimowitz of Topeka, Kan., Scott Haimowitz of Midland, Texas, and Russell Haimowitz of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandchildren; and three sisters, Susan Bailey of Gibbon, Neb., Maxine Glassey of Gulnare, Colo., and Nancy Nordhues of Miller, Neb. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and her daughter, Rennie.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the West End Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho. Pastor Dale Metzger will officiate. Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Chapel in Twin Falls.
