Stanley Kogut
Bellingham -- Stanley Kogut of 40 Pond Street, died Saturday at Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital, Milford, after being stricken at home upon returning from an Easter Vigil Mass. He was the husband of Ann (Polny) Kogut.
Born August 23, 1906, in Blackston, a son of Frank and Julia (Bislko) Kogut, he worked in maintenance at the Rhode Island Hospital Trust Building for 25 years prior to retiring in 1972.
Mr. Kogut served in the Navy from 1926 to 1946 when he retired from active duty with the rank of chief water tender. He joined the Navy Fleet Reserves and served until the present.
A World Wat II veteran, Mr. Kogut was a member and past commander of Harold F. Flynn Post 263 of Woonsocket and a member of the Fleet Reserves Association since 1943. He was awarded the 50-year Perfect Service Pin.
A resident of Bellingham for 40 years, he formerly lived in Woonsocket and Blackstone. He was a member of the Bellingham Senior Citizens Club.
He is also survived by two brothers, Andrew Kogut of Hollywood, FL and Joseph Kogut of Burrillville, three sisters, Mrs. Stacia Niedzwiadek of Bellingham, Mrs. Helen Coughlin and Mrs. Sophie Lagoda, both of Bridgeport, Conn., two nephews Gregory Tremba of Shewsbury and Thomas Tremba of West Cadwell, NJ and several nieces.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 South Main Street with a Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Blaise Church, South Main Street. Interment will be at 11:30 at the Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Bourne with military honors.

Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Blaise Church, Bellingham. Interment set for 11:30 a.m. in the V. A. National Cemetery, Bourne, Mass. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
