Wesley R. Pfefferkorn age 84, of 3817 County Hwy. V, town of Kossuth, entered into eternal life on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, in Manitowoc.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 4, 2004 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek, with the Rev. Paul Paider officiating, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.

Wesley was born April 9, 1920 in Mishicot, to the late Herman and Elizabeth Bruhn Pfefferkorn, and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of the Mishicot High School graduating with the class of 1938. He married the former Lucille Filliez on Aug. 22, 1942 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2002. Mr. Pfefferkorn was employed for many years as a sales agent for the Standard Oil Company, retiring in 1977. He also owned and operated a hobby farm, which gave him much enjoyment. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek, and a lifetime member of the Mishicot High School Alumni Association.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Betty and Jerome Schuette of Manitowoc; Susan and Eugene Posvic of Manitowoc; Jane and Gary Barnes of rural Valders; and by one son and daughter-in-law: Carl and Mary Lou Pfefferkorn of Francis Creek. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren: Jayson and Justina Pfefferkorn; Melissa (Edward) Hooper; Shelly (Michael) Voigt; Sally (Christopher) Shields; Anna (Wayne) Schad; Jon Schuette; Roy (Anne) Williams; Melvin (Kathryn) Williams; Bradley (Leah) Barnes; Nathan and Travis Barnes; and by seven great-grandchildren: J.T. Allan Shields, Josiphine Williams, Curtis Williams, Brandon, Katrina and Amanda Barnes, and Karley Schad, along with a forth coming great-grandchild. Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by two infant sons: Paul and Larry; one grandson: John Andrew Barnes; one brother: Roland Pfefferkorn; and one sister: Ethel Otis.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home in Mishicot. There will be a 7 p.m. parish wake service Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek, until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
