Geraldine Williams Waller born September 20, 1946 passed away April 27, 2011. She is survived by a son Michael Christopher Waller, 2 step-daughters Donna Robison and husband Phil, Peggy Durham and husband Marty, 1 step son Larry Michael Waller, her father Fredrick Lowell Williams and wife Mary, 2 sisters Judy Taylor and husband Leldon, Debra Borden, brother Larry Gene Williams and wife Debbie, grandchildren Montgomery Waller and Samantha Waller, several step-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
Gerri was preceded in death by her mother Louise "Susie" Williams, grandmother Lissie Newell Evans, grandfather Roberts Evans, grandmother Bertha Clement Williams, grandfather Thomas Monroe Williams
Gerri was a Christian and a member of the 7th Day Church of God in Haleyville, Al where she was the pianoist for the church for many years.
Gerri loved to read, crochet, knit, cook and play the piano. She loved discovering and creating new recipes and sharing them with her family and friends.
Gerri was very talented in music teaching herself at the age of 10 to play the piano by ear. She also taught herself to read shape note music so she could play from the song books. Later she taught herself to read and convert round note music to shape note music so she could play both.
She was very talented in crocheting and knitting and teaching herself how to read patterns and design patterns herself. Her most beautiful work was a John Deere tractor blanket she crocheted for a young cousin who was a cancer patient with a deep love of John Deere tractors. She took a photo of one of his favorites and design the pattern herself and crochet it just for him. She also designed and crocheted sports blankets featuring Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tiger Football. Her talent was endless and equal to any of the greatest design artist in her field.
Gerri was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother,daughter, sister and friend. She was a kind, gentle person who always saw the best in everyone she knew. She never had anything bad to say about anyone, always giving them the benefit of the doubt and siding on their good side.
She had the most infectious smile on her face each time you saw her. Every picture of her from her youth up shows this beautiful smile, a smile that is truly missed.
