During WWII, he served his country in the U. S. Navy as a radio operator. In 1986 he retired from civil service after a thirty year career as a print pressman.
Preceding him in rest are his parents [Dennis Dorgan & Emma E. Smith] and brother.
Surviving members of his family include his wife of 53 years, Lena K. Dorgan; daughters, Sharon Strand of Poquoson, and Katherine Buyna of Wake Forest, N.C.; grandchildren, Jennifer Strand of Newport News, Christina Buyna and Bridget Buyna both of Wake Forest, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Buyna and Aaliyah Buyna both of Wake Forest, N.C.; and sister, Mary Sondheimer of Stevensville, Md.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, July 22, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. A service of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning, July 23, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park.
