POQUOSON - Archie Lawson Moore, 87, a native and lifetime resident of Poquoson, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010.
Archie served his country proudly during WWII in the U.S. Army.
He went on to work for the Veterans Administration in Hampton and as the Building Inspector for the City of Poquoson. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Poquoson.
He was also a member, and when able, spent many enjoyable times with the Poquoson Kiwanis Club, the VFW, and American Legion Poquoson Post #273. His greatest pleasure was in supporting his community. He had many loyal friends and relatives who were for him when the good times weren't. All who had the opportunity to know him will truly miss him.
Archie was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver C. and Louise L. Moore.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Betty Wright Moore; his son, David Lawson Moore and wife, Tara; a brother, Clarence Moore; a sister, Ella Cochran; and many loving family and friends.
