POQUOSON - Judson Graham "Buck" Shackleford Jr., 77, a native and lifelong resident of Poquoson, with family by his side, was called by his Lord to his heavenly home to be with family and loved ones on Sunday, April 11, 2010.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees, and the J.O.U.A.M. Yorktown Council #66. Buck served as a Boy Scout leader; a Lay Minister; started and continued with the Laymen Quartet for 14 years.

He served in the United States Army from 1951-1954.

After 30 years of service, Buck retired from NASA as a purchasing agent. After his retirement, he worked part-time with several local funeral homes, the longest being at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson.

Buck was the "beloved husband" for 55 years to his wife, Peggy; and an "absolutely wonderful" father to his daughter, Violet. From all his friends and working companions, he was a "living legacy of a man who loved to work." He will be greatly remembered and missed for a lifetime.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Judson G. Shackleford and Violet Evans Begor; a loving grandmother, Vera M. Evans; and infant granddaughter, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Andrews.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy W. Shackleford; a loving daughter, Violet S. Lockard and husband, Robbie; and many extended family members and special friends.
