POQUOSON - Wilma Vaunitta "Vonnie" Tholl, 55, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Chandler, Ariz. Raised in Hampton, she was a Peninsula resident for more than 50 years where she worked as a deli clerk for Farm Fresh.

She was a member of Women of The Moose Chapter 1386, and a committee chairperson for Boy Scout Troops #309 and #1711 for many years. She loved caring for her family and especially loved to cook and bake. She also enjoyed crafts and was a great "event organizer" for weddings, baby showers and other family gatherings.

Mrs. Tholl was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Bradford and Wilma Wood; stepfather, John Wood; two brothers, Larry Turman, Earl W. Bradford; and her nephew, Brian Keith.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Tholl; son, Joey Tholl of Poquoson; four sisters, Jackie Karnes and husband, Howard of Newport News, Dottie Fulford and husband, Ernie of Hampton, Veronica Jansen of Yorktown and Charlene Dunn and husband, David of Rocky Mount, N.C. She is also survived by her stepbrother, Lafe Bradford; her stepsister, Carol Thoreau; her stepmother, Carla Bradford of New Jersey; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; other extended family and her special friend, Johnny Ferguson of Hampton.
