Musician. Austrian-born muscian, born Hans Schidlof. One of the most famous viola players of all-time he was a founder member of "The Amadeus Quartet" arguably the greatest string quartet of the 20th Century. Amongst the many honours bestowed unto Schidlof was the award of an O.B.E. in 1970, the Austrian Cross of Honour for services to art and science as well as being an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Music. (bio by: Kieran Smith)
