Aviator. A native of Ottawa, Ontario, he at first became a commercial pilot, but then joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF)as a Flight Lieutenant. Fauquier became known for his leadership and great skill as a pilot, especially when he was in command of the Pathfinder Bomber Squadron and also the Royal Air Force Dambusters. Fauquier became one of Canada's greatest pilots of World War II. He also participated in many famous air raids including the one on Peenemunde, Germany. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Distinguished Service Order Awards for gallantry, one of the only Canadian pilots to be given the two medals. Fauquier was inducted into the Aviation Hall of Fame in 1973. He passed away in 1981 at the age of 72.
