U.S. Congressman. Brother of US Congressman Lawrence Joseph Connery, he attended Montreal College Canada, (1902-04) and Holy Cross College Massachusetts, (1904-08). He was theatrical actor (1908-16) and engaged as a theater manager, (1916-17). During World War I, he served in the 101st Regiment, US Army, in France. After the war, he was an electric company employee (1919-21) engaged in the manufacture of candy in 1921 and was secretary to the Mayor of Lynn Massachusetts, (1922-23). In 1923, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-eighth Congress and to the next seven succeeding Congresses and served until his death at age 48. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
