Ryan Patrick "Reenok" Hudson, age 20, went home to be with The Lord on Monday, April 9, 2012. Sadly, he was involved in a tragic auto accident. He was born in Newport News and attended York High School, a graduate with the class of 2011.
Ryan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Odell Drum of Hampton, and his uncle, Robert Drum of Colorado. He is survived by his mother, Kimberly Hudson Saunders of Yorktown; father, Rick Drum of Virginia Beach; sisters, Emily Rudge of Yorktown, and Ashley, Rachel, and Stevie Drum of Virginia Beach; grandparents, Mrs. Inga Drum of Hampton, Jud and Mary Hudson of Hampton, and Brenda Eichrodt of Indianapolis; his best friend from childhood, Kyle Kilgore, as well as a large extended family and many friends.
Ryan loved to visit the Outer Banks, spending his time surfing, fishing, and being at the beach. He also enjoyed vacationing in Colorado with his grandparents and uncle. His smile and enthusiasm for life will be remembered by all who knew him. Ryan was a good young man full of compassion who was always willing to help others. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will always be remembered with love. He will be sadly missed but not forgotten.
There has never been, nor will there ever be, anything quite so special as the love between a mother and a son. We now have an angel in heaven. He is my son Ryan.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1:00 pm on Monday, April 16, 2012, directly followed with a celebration of Ryan's life at 1:00 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
