Jarvis (Jack) W. Edwards, 80, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012. He was a native of Nash County, NC, and a longtime resident of Hampton. Jack retired from Drucker and Falk, LLC, in 1996 as a Certified Property Manager after 35 years of service.

Jack served as past president of IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management), a volunteer with the Hampton Planning Commission, and past president of the Farmington Civic Association.

He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and usher. He was a former deacon of Langley Baptist church where he also served as Sunday School Superintendent.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillian Edwards; brothers, David, Louis and Harold; sisters, Lorene and Audrey, and great granddaughter Alexis Beauvais.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce V. Edwards; children, Elizabeth and husband, Robin Felkel of Summerville, SC, Jarvis and wife Janet Edwards of Newport News, Jackie and husband, Delwin Croom of Hampton, and Kelvin Edwards of Hampton; sister, Maxine Whitley of Rocky Mount, NC; grandchildren, Kimberly and Darryl Felkel, Stephanie Beauvais, Jennifer and Caitlin Edwards, Joy Judy, Robert Purnell, and John and Luke Edwards, six great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 5 pm until 7 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Liberty Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's honor to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, 1021 Big Bethel Rd., Hampton, VA 23666, or your favorite charity.
