Joel Shook, beloved son of David and Anne Shook, and a lifetime resident of Newport News, passed away Friday, January 13, 2012, at Riverside Hospital, at age 55.
Joel will forever be remembered because of the love and care he gave to others. He was a dedicated employee with Best Western Motel as a Guest Service Representative.
Joel was preceded in death by one brother, David Richard Shook. He is survived by his parents; one son, Joel Scott Shook II; and one brother, Robert Lee Shook and wife, Jeanette; and dear friend Mrs. Gertrude Wilson.
The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a celebration of Joel's life to begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
