Lyman F. Rife, 75-year-old retired farmer, died Sunday in his home on S. Green st. after an extended illness.

Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. (CDT) Thursday in the Melvin funeral home by the Rev. D.J. Schuyleman, Methodist minister, and burial will be in Fairmount cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home.

Mr. Rife was born Feb. 29, 1876, near Beardstown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rife. He had made his home in Polo only since his marriage Aug. 29, 1946, to Martha Meyers of Polo.

Surviving are the widow; seven sons, Louis, Klamath Falls, Ore., Clarence, Floyd, Walter and Lonnie, all of Quincy, Fred of Lena, and Vernon, Sterling; four daughters, Mrs. Bessie Voss, Stockton, Mrs. Della Tuttle, The Dalles, Ore., Mrs. Viola Mayfield, Quincy, and Mrs. Rosalia Crawford, Mount Carm.; two brothers, John, Beardstown, and Earl, Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Hubbs, Blue Island, and Della, Rushville; and 16 grandchildren.
