FARMINGTON -- Jessama E. Bourgoin, 81, of Summer Street in Auburn, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 1, 2003 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.She was born May 17, 1921 in Avon, a daughter of the late James A. and Thelma A. (Oberton) Spencer.On Nov. 24, 1944, she married Arthur Bourgoin in Phillips.She was a member of the Lewiston-Auburn Deaf Club, the National Industries for the Blind, and received the 1979 Blind Worker of the Year Award.She formerly worked at the Diamond Match Company in Phillips and the Carol Cable Company of Manchester, N.H.She was an active member of the Auburn Baptist Church in Auburn, where the church children called her "Grammie."She is survived by one son, Dennis Bourgoin and his wife Nellie of Lewiston; two daughters, Linda J. Hawes and her companion Max Trapske of Rockwood, and Marie A. Pillsbury of Avon; a half sister, Josephine Gilcrest and her husband Edward of Avon; a brother-in-law, Andrew Phillips Sr. of Avon; two sisters-in-law, Hilda Spencer of Strong, and Nancy Spencer; two step brothers, John Moody of Avon, and Galon Wilcox of Rangeley; six step sisters, Muriel Moores of Clinton, Lillian Julian and her husband Horace of Tampa, Fla., Mona Ridley of Nobleboro, Patsy Weeks of North Whitefield, Nedra Richmond of Madrid, and Betty Atwood of Lewiston; one step sister-in-law, Pauline Moody of Connecticut; her caretaker of more than seven years, Ginger Morin of Auburn; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three sons, Kelvin Bourgoin, Peter Bourgoin, James Bourgoin; two brothers, Frank Spencer, Everett Spencer; two sisters, Harriett Haines, Lois Phillips; four step-brothers, Robert Wilcox, Don Wilcox, Harlan Wilcox and Charlie Moody.Funeral services were held, Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at the Auburn Baptist Church, and on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at the Phillips United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman Boulay and Pastor Brian H.
