Comedian, Actor, Entertainer. His full name was Oliver Erik Lasse Lindroth. He was born in Teheran, the capital of Iran, and came to Sweden as an adopted child when he was only three months old. He grew up in the suburbs of Stockholm. From the late 1980s he was involved in the theatre. He became a popular stand up comedian and actor, performing live and on TV and radio. In 1994 he created "Ali Hussain," a popular character through which he could mock racism and hostility towards immigrants. In just seven years he performed more than 1200 times. On stage he seemed to radiate a charm that nobody could resist. At the age of 22 he wrote his first book, "Där inga änglar bor" (Where No Angels Live). In all he wrote four books, the last of which came out posthumously. Lasse was also increasingly popular in Norway. It was while coming back from a performance in the Norwegian capital Oslo that he was killed in a car crash, just three weeks after his wedding.
