Mrs. Fred Brower Sr., 76, formerly of Orange City, died Saturday, May 26, at a nursing home in Ocean Grove, N.J.
Services were at 10 A.M., Wednesday, at the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home, Orange City, with the Rev. John T. Ebbers of Calvary Christian Reformed Church officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Brower, the former Cecelia Wiersma, was born Oct. 22, 1902, in Orange City. She was married May 28, 1923, in Orange City, Mr. Brower died in 1951.
Mrs. Brower had been a schoolteacher in Boyden and a dormitory mother at Northwestern College in Orange City. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Goshen and was a charter member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church.
She left Orange City several years ago to live with her children.
Survivors include a son, Fred of Mesa, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. Marjorie H. Van Lummel of Wayside, N.J., Mrs. Eileen F. Westerbeek of Goshen and Mrs. Frieda B. Scharf of Greenville, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and five sisters, Mrs. Anne Ring and Mrs. Dorothy Topma, both of Boise, Idaho, Mrs. Deanne Koerner of Northwood, Iowa, Mrs. Margaret Sterken of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Helen Kuiper of Holland, Mich.
