Frederick was the son of Andrias Locher and Barbara Sherlock. In 1884 he and his mother immigrated to the United States on board the passenger ship Labrador, which arrived on 07 Mar in New York, New York. On 28 Jul 1884 he married Rosena Deppen and they had four children: Fred, Rosine, Edwin, and Margaretta. Frederick was a confectioner. Frederick died of pneumonia at the age of 56.
