Rev. Robert S. Peterson died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Golden Living Center, Norfolk. Robert was born on June 23, 1918 at Clarks Grove, MN. the son of Alfred and Rebecca (Sorenson) Peterson.

Robert was raised on the family dairy farm and attended rural school, graduated from Ellendale, MN in 1936.

Robert moved to California and received training in Aircraft Maintenance and then relocated to the Glen L. Martin Bomber Plant in Baltimore, MD.

Robert married Dorothy E. Burton on September 19, 1943 in Baltimore, MD. The couple was transferred to the Martin plant in Omaha and while there he graduated from Omaha Baptist Bible College.

His ministry started in 1949 preparing to become an aviation missionary to Alaska. As they were embarking for this ministry outreach, Rev. Peterson contracted polio and was unable to go to the field. Temple Baptist Church in Omaha invited Rev. Peterson to be the senior pastor. He faithfully served there for several years and then moved to Lincoln to join the International radio ministry of Back to the Bible until retiring in 1988. During these years he had written many books and enjoyed preaching in countless churches in Nebraska and Bible conferences around the world. After his retirement he volunteered for 14 years in Back to the Bible's Counseling Department until 2002 when a stroke prevented him from continuing the ministry he loved.
