Rev. Dr. Emory Miller Stevens was the son of Rev. William Henry and Margaretta (Sheffler) Stevens. He was the husband of Julia A. (Leader) Stevens. They were married January 12, 1884. Rev. Dr. Stevens was a minister in the Central Pennsylvania Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was admitted on trial, recommended by Williamsport: Mulberry Street in 1882. He served Loyalsock, 1882-1884; Hughesville, 1884-1886; Emporium, 1886-1889; Jersey Shore: First, 1889-1891; Harrisburg: Thirteenth Street, 1891-1895; Bellwood, 1895-1896; Bedford, 1896-1900; Supt. Juniata District 1901-1902; Williamsport: Pine Street 1902-1907; Supt. Harrisburg District 1907-1909; Supt. Williamsport District 1909-1915; Supt. Juniata District 1915-1919; Supt. Altoona District 1919-1924; Mifflinburg, 1924,1927; retired 1927. He died 131 East Watson Street.

--Rev. Dr. Stevens conducted the funeral service of my great grandmother, Bertha Williams (Sparks) Harter, at Dudley Methodist Episcopal Church March 1901. He was assisted by five other ministers. --Mary Jane
