Born in Germany. Original name Johan Jacob Mueckli. Came to America on the ship Hope of London which departed from Rotterdam, Holland and landed in Philadelphia 8/28/1733.

John married Elizabeth Burkhalter in 1736 in Whitehall, PA. The 7 known children are as follows:

-John Jacob Mickley (1737-1808)
-John Martin Mickley (1745-1830)
-Magdalena Mickley (1745-1827)
-John Peter Mickley (1753-1827)
-John Henry Mickley (1754-1763)
-Barbara Mickley (1756-1763)
-Susanne Mickley (b.1758)

Became a naturalized citizen on August 9, 1761. He was originally interred in the Egypt Cemetery but was re-interred in this cemetery in 1864.

Father: Louis Michelete (b. 16 Dec 1675, d. 27 Feb 1750), burial unknown.

Mother: Susanne Mangeot (b. 26 Jun 1679, d. 1710), burial unknown.
