Born in Aabol in Nord-Aurdal, Oppland, Norway. son of Ole Thoresen Aabol and Anne Olsdatter.
Emigrated to Cato township, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. He came on the ship Drafna in 1848 with his wife Kari whom he married 9th April, 1848 at Aardal, Norway. He is listed as Anders A. Aoban, 30, m. The ship left Drammen, Norway in June of 1818.
The ship landed in New York 31st August,1848 following ten weeks at sea. Upon arriving in New York, the travelers had to take physical examinations and many of them were sick from the poor water and food. The party made the trip by boat from New York to Milwaukee via the Erie Canal. Friends from Karskeland (Koshkonong) met them in Milwaukee with ox-teams and kubberuller (wagons with log wheeels). The small children, old people and baggage was carried in those wagons, while the rest of the party followed on foot. Their destination, Karskeland, was reached 12th September, 1848.
Anders Olsen Aabol was married a second time in 1882 to Marit Knudsdatter Kvale. She was the daughter of Knud Olsen Kvale and Jorand Knudsdatter born in Vestre Slidre, Oppland, Norway. They were married 3rd July, 1882 in the Lutheran Church, Town of Cato, Manitowoc County, WI.

His brother Ole Olsen Aabol age 21 also was on the ship Drafna. He married 12th March, 1850 to Marit Knudsdatter Raabole and they had at least eight children.
