Seth was the son of Aaron Rohrer and Lovina Anglemeyer. Mr. Rohrer and his wife Emma Stealy (m. 21 Jun 1930 in Elkhart, IN), served the Lord in so many ways up until his untimely death in a car accident in 2005 in North Carolina.

"Rohrer was instrumental in founding many inspirational organizations including "Your Worship Hour" radio broadcast, Elkhart County Youth for Christ and Bethel College. In 1987 he was awarded a doctorate of humanities from Bethel College. Rohrer was a member of the United Missionary Church board of directors, which is now the Missionary Church. He was a member of the governing board of Hubbard Hill Estates in Elkhart from 1973-1990. Rohrer also served on the Bethel College board of directors from 1945-1990, and spent 30 years on the executive committee and as treasurer for the college.

For nearly a century, this godly man transformed his world for the cause of Christ, touching lives that others might
follow his example. In his local church he served as treasurer, a member of the board for 40 years and Sunday School superintendent for 19 years. He also participated on a denominational level as a member of the board of directors for the United Missionary Church (now the Missionary Church) where he was on many committees filling a variety of positions.
Active not only in a church setting, Rohrer made a mark on the surrounding community by serving on the board of directors of "Your Worship Hour," a radio broadcast in South Bend, Ind. Less than 10 years after this ministry began, he founded the Elkhart County Youth for Christ to reach young people in the area.
Still eager to encounter new terrain, Rohrer became part of a group of individuals who envisioned a college founded ‘with Christ at the helm,' from which Bethel College was born. From 1945 to 1990 Rohrer served on the board of directors for Bethel College in Mishawaka, Ind., where he helped establish and expand the institution. He also served on the executive committee and as its treasurer.
In honor of his hard work for the college, Rohrer was given an honorary doctorate of humanities in 1987 and also has his name grace the fine arts building along with Quinton J. Everest. This remarkable man was involved in numerous other activities before his passing on November 13, 2005, including co-founding Church Growth Services of South Bend, serving as a member on the governing board of Hubbard Hill Estates and being named National Association of Evangelicals Layman of the Year.
As Seth Rohrer committed his life to "seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness," he started ministries and made trails that others might follow as inspired pioneers for Christ.
