Shirley Agnes Swenson Orton
WEST POINT - Shirley Agnes Swenson Orton, 87, loving mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Family Tree in West Point, UT surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 28, 1924 in Ogden to Levi Earl and Florence Ann Morgan Swenson. She attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ogden High Class of 42. She married Elmer F. Orton on March 25, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple.
They moved to Clearfield, UT where they raised seven children. She enjoyed rose gardening, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and quilting. She never considered anyone a stranger. She was the Friendliest Avon lady you ever met.
She is survived by her children: Linda O. Carlsen, Roger (Susan) Orton, Nina (Kevin) Barton, Sharon O. Bowen, Marcia (Glee) Bateman & Mark Orton; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, her daughter Susan, her parents, one brother and one sister, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mom We love you and will miss you dearly!
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Family Tree
and Hospice of Utah for their loving care and thoughtfulness.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West. Roy. A viewing will be held Wednesday at the mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
