Ella Popenhagen Weis, 89, formerly of 4909 Indian Creek Way, Marion, died in Vinton Monday morning after a long illness.
She was born at Atkins Nov. 1, 1894. She married Lewie W. Weis Oct. 8, 1919 in Cedar Rapids. He died December 1970. She had lived on the farm then known as Route 2 since her marriage.
Mrs. Weis was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran church.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Wilma) Conley, 4909 Indian Creek Way, Marion; a granddaughter, Janet Burcham of Iowa City and a great granddaughter, Laura Burcham.
Services were held at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Thursday at 1:30 p.m. by Pastor Leon Hodges. Burial was in Oak Shade Cemetery. Baxter Memorial Chapel had charge of the arrangements. A memorial has been established.
