Paul James Toland, 72, of Newmarket NH, died peacefully on August 7, 2008, at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover NH after a 2-year battle with cancer with his family at his side. Paul was born to Reginald "Scratch" and Amelia Toland in Exeter NH on March 16, 1936. He was a graduate of Exeter High School, Phillips Exeter Academy, and the University of New Hampshire.
Mr. Toland worked his entire life in the construction business, owner and operator of Toland Construction. Paul was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed golfing and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Paul is survived by his son Paul "Chip" Toland, Jr., of Exeter NH; daughters Dawn Klemarczyk of Nottingham NH, and Diane Hartmann and husband Frank of Greenland NH; grandchildren Dustin and Danny Klemarczyk, Billy and Lucas Hartmann, and Jordan Toland; mother of his children Joanne Toland; sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Richard Greenwood of Nashua NH; loving companion Lorraine LaPointe of Newmarket NH and her children Pat and Michelle Butler of Cahoes NY, Scott and Lisa Parsons of Tilton NH, and her grandchildren Amy and Andrea Butler and Jack and Drew Parsons; and nieces, nephews, and friends.
