Funeral services for Vonnie V. Kirkpatrick Johnson will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in the Harmony Baptist Church of Glenmora with Rev. Jerry Johnson and Robert McLane officiating. Committal services will follow in the Johnson Cemetery of Glenmora, under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Vonnie, 95, of Glenmora, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 4, 2012 in Grace Home of Alexandria. She was born on January 9, 1917 in Melder, to the union of Solomon Edgar and Carrrie Ashmore Kirkpatrick

She was a homemaker and a Charter Member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Hickman David Johnson.

She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, three sons, Fred Johnson and wife Sue of Richmond, Texas, James Johnson and wife Ella of Glenmora, Charles Johnson and wife Patsy of Natchitoches; one daughter, Mary Stokes and husband Steve of Glenmora; one brother, S.E. Kirkpatrick of Port Neches, Texas; one sister, Pattie Ruth Monk of Woodworth; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
