Professional Hockey Player. A native of Toronto, Ontario, 'Jake' Forbes played for teams in the OHAJR, TIHL, NHL, NHLMGNT, Can-Am, Can-Pro, and the IHL hockey leagues. At 5'06", and 140lbs, Forbes played the position of Goalie for the Toronto Aura Lee from 1916 to 1918, 1919 to 1920, Toronto Goodyears from 1918 to 1920, Toronto St. Pats from 1919 to 1922, Hamilton Tigers from 1923 to 1925, New York Americans from 1926 to 1930, 1931 to 1933, Providence Reds from 1927 to 1928, Niagara Falls Cataracts from 1927 to 1928, New Haven Eagles from 1928 to 1931, Philadelphia Quakers from 1930 to 1931, Springfield Indians from 1931 to 1932, Bronx Tigers from 1931 to 1932, Windsor Bulldogs from 1933 to 1934, Syracuse Stars from 1934 to 1936, London Tecumsehs from 1934 to 1935, and the Rochester Cardinals from 1935 to 1936. Forbes retired from hockey in 1936 and later worked for a wholesaler of fine china dinner ware. Forbes passed away in Hamilton, Ontario, at the age of 88, in December 1985.
