Retired nurse and former beautician
Thelma Hiller Rush, 86, of Washington, died Monday, May 7, 2012, in her home.
She was born May 14, 1925, in Waynesburg, daughter of Harold J. and Helen Porter Hiller.
A 1943 graduate of Waynesburg High School, she received her licensed practical nurse degree from Greene County Vo Tech at age 54.
She retired from Washington County Health Center after working there for 11 years as a LPN.
Mrs. Rush had previously been a beautician at Betty Fisher's Shop.
She was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church.
An active member at the senior citizens center, she had formerly been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine.
On February 5, 1944, she married Delmont F. Rush, who survives.
Also surviving are daughter Vallie (John) Work of Cranberry Township; granddaughter Shannon (Chad) Robertson; and three great-grandchildren, Drew, Luke and Chloe Robertson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 14, with the Rev. John Hoffman officiating.
Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
