John was a member of New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was a Song Leader. He loved Gospel music and sang with a quartet for several years. He enjoyed fishing and vacationing at Fairy Stone each summer for more than 50 years. He enjoyed sharing jokes and laughter with others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Tempie Tyndall; and his sister, Dorothy Cooper.
John leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years, Catherine; his daughter, Brenda Roane and her husband, Richard of Newport News; two grandchildren, Amber Davies and Nathan Loving; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Riley and Caylee; and several nieces and nephews.
