John A. Amend, 82, a resident of Eau Claire for 35 years and a former resident of Cedar Falls, died Thursday afternoon. He is survived by his wife, Bessie, a son John Jr., Minneapolis; three daughters, Mrs. Tom Trimble, Eau Claire, Mrs. Ralph Horton Town of Washington, and Mrs William Miley, Leavenworth Kans.; a brother, Ernest; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Stokes and Sons Chapel with the Rev. M. O. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Falls cemetery in Dunn County. Friends may call at the chapel Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday until time of service.
