Playwright. He was a member of the Serapion Brothers, a literary group that flourished in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg, Russia) during the early 1920's. Suffering from what was probably kidney disease, Lunts emigrated to Germany in 1923 and spent the remainder of his short life in hospitals and sanitariums. He died in Eppendorf one week after his 23rd birthday. He left behind two plays which were published and performed after his death, "City of Truth" (1929) and "Beyond the Law" (1930), as well as several short stories. His papers are now housed at Yale University.
