Edward K. James Lansing Mr. Edward K. James, 81, passed away May 9, 2012 in Charlotte, MI. He was born May 12, 1930 in Lansing, MI, son of Kenneth and Vera (Winter) James. Ed was retired from Motor Wheel after 40 years of service and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion; enjoyed fishing and hunting, and especially attending his grandchildren's different events. Survivors include his sons, Thomas of Royal Oak and Tim (Michelle) of Vermontville; daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Merrill and Diane James-Gavin; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and brother, Art James. He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Barbara; parents, sister-in-law, Carol James; sister and brother-in-law, Francis and Freeman Nelson; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marion and Bill VanSice. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012 - 1:30 P.M. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home in Grand Ledge, with Military Honors to follow at Deepdale Memorial Park, Lansing. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Community Palliative Care in memory of Edward James.
