Julia L. Stockdale Jackson, age 82, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on December 27, 1929 in Owenton, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late, Earl & Bessie Hewitt Stockdale. Julia was raised in Carroll County and attended school there. She was united in marriage to William Aubrey Jackson on June 19, 1952 in Vevay, Indiana. This happy union was blessed with two sons and two daughters. Julia was a loving and devoted wife, mom & granny. She enjoyed caring for her family and spending quality time with them. She was very generous and it could be said, she would give you the shirt off of her back. She enjoyed her partnership with her late husband in many business endeavors. They owned and operated River City Mini - Mart for fifteen years in downtown Madison. They also owned and operated Paul's Burgers & Shakes and it later became known as B.J.'s Burgers & Shakes in downtown Madison. Julia was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Milton Baptist Church and had served on the Milton PTA. She found great enjoyment in watching hummingbirds, reading, working word search books and playing Yahtzee. Julia died Friday, May 11, 2012 at 7:05 a.m. at The Water's of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.

Julia will be missed by her loving sons: Milton Mayor, Denny Jackson & his wife, Fritzi of Milton, Kentucky, Shane Jackson & his wife, Billie of Vevay, Indiana; her loving daughters: Vedie Tingle & her husband, Jeff of Springfield, Kentucky, Libby Kinman & her husband, John of Vevay, Indiana; her loving grandchildren: Byron, Ryan, Jenna, Barrett & his wife, Rachel, Landon, Whitney, Emily, Shane, Will & Xavier; her step grandchildren: Kyle & Jessie; her adoring great grandchildren: Mikon, Jade, Owen & Bryce; her brother: Edwin Stockdale & his wife, Betty of Louisville, Kentucky; her sister: Ruby Davis & her husband, Ron of Petersburg, Indiana, LaVerne Evans of Campbellsburg, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, cousins & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Bessie Hewitt Stockdale; her husband, William Aubrey "Bill" Jackson died, December 28, 2010; her granddaughter, Jessica died in 1974; her sisters, Juanita Hawkins, Earlene Shields & Wanda Pyles; her brother, Herbert Stockdale.

FUNERAL CEREMONY

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., by Bro. Ferrill Davis at the Milton Baptist Church, 10076 Hwy 421 North in Milton, Kentucky. Interment will follow in the Bedford I.O.O. F. Cemetery in Bedford, Kentucky.

VISITATION

Friends may call Monday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Milton Baptist Church, 10076 Hwy 421 North in Milton, Kentucky.

MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS

Memorial contributions may be made to the Milton Baptist Church or the Donor's Choice. Cards are available at the funeral home.
