Miss Sarah Hutchin H Killikelly, one
of the most prominent figures in the
musical and literary world, and
possessor of the gold crown prize from
the Society of Science, Arts and Let-
ters, of London, is dead In this
city.
The end came at the home of her
mother and her niece at 720 East
Capitol street, last night. She had
been ill for more than a year,
but the illness did not become grave
until after the recent holidays.
Funeral servlces will be held from St.
Mark's Church tomorrow afternoon at
3 o'clock. They will be conducted by
the Rov. Dr Stetson, and will be pri-
vate. Interment will be in Rock Creek
Cemetery.
Born In Vincennes, Ind., on New Year
Day, 1840, she never married, but
devoted her entire life to her work. She
was an organist of no mean ability, as
well us a harpist, pianist, and
composer.
Miss Killikelly is survived by her
mother, Mrs. T. H. Carpenter, widow
of the late Major Carpenter, U. S. A.,
and two sisters, Miss Jane Killikelly,
of this city, and Mrs.H. G. Morse, wife
of the founder of the New York Bridge
Company.
