The Piedmont Herald, January16, 1903:

Mrs. Annie Gibson, widow of the late John Gibson who has made her home three years past with her daughter, Mrs. Brady Dawson, died Tuesday morning January 12, 1903, aged 78 years, 7 months and 28 days. Mrs. Gibson was born in Hampshire County, W. Va. Her husband was killed during the Civil War. While she had been in feeble health for some time she was downstairs last Saturday and her death was quite sudden. Mrs. Gibson is survived by three brothers and two sisters, and leaves two children, Mrs. Brady Dawson of Piedmont and Miss Elizabeth Gibson of Paw Paw. The funeral services were conducted at the residence Thursday by E.T. Mowbray. Interment was in Philos Cemetery.
