William Norris Embree was the son of Norris J. Embree and Eliza S. Lewis. He married Laura Ann Fee September 12 1865 in Kentucky. They were the parents of Nellie Matilda, Eliza L., Sally F., William D., Raymond B. , Royal Howard and Edwin Rogers Embree. William was a telegraph operator in the Civil War, and went on to work as a telegrapher for the Union Pacific Railroad.
