Aida Vazquez, 85, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully at Nathan Adelson Hospice May 15, 2012. She was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Aida moved to Wichita, Kan., where her husband, Arturo Vazquez, was an aviation structural mechanic for Boeing Aircraft. They relocated to California, where they would live for 38 years until 2003, when they moved to Las Vegas to be closer to their son, Hector, and his wife, Randi. Aida was loved by those who knew her. She enjoyed helping others and had many interests and talents including a beautiful singing voice, travelling and participating in sports. Aida was preceded in death by her husband, of 63 years, Arturo. She is survived by her son, Hector (Randi); three grandchildren, Susan, Jolyn and Greg; and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Eric and Chad. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Entombment will follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
