Arturo Vazquez, 86, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009. He was born Oct. 22, 1922, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and was a six-year resident of Nevada. Arturo was a retired aviation structural mechanic and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Aida Vazquez; son, Hector (Randi) Vazquez of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Susan, Jolyn and Greg; great-grandchildren, Michael, Eric and Chad; and one great-great-grandchild. Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Interment will follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
