My grandmother's family genealogy work always gave Ralph's surname as MERK, but apparently that has been wrong for over 50 years!

SET RITES FOR FOUR WHO LOST LIVES IN MOBILE HOME FIRE
Funeral services for Mrs. Roseann Meek, 21, formerly of Galesburg, and her three small daughters who perished early Saturday morning a a fire which destroyed the Meek mobile home at the Lawson Trailer Court near Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., in the Hinchliff and Pearson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the funeral home. A single casket will contain the remains of the mother and her children.
Victims of the fire with the mother were Sharon Marie Meek, born May 13, 1961, in Galesburg; Cecilia Louise Meek, born here July 12, 1962, and Helen Leah Meek, born last Aug. 16, at Fort Leonard Wood.
Complete information on the fatal fire was learned today upon the return of Mrs. Meek's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ward of 468 N. Broad St., who went to Fort Leonard Wood Saturday.
Earlier last week, the Meek family including the husband and father, Ralph Meek who is stationed at the military installation, left on a hunting trip at the Ripley-Oregon county line. Due to the cold weather, Mrs. Meek returned to the mobile home with the three children, with Meek remaining at the hunting site.
Sgt. Obeau Hall, who resided next door to the Meeks, told investigating authorities that he was awakened Saturday about 3:30 a.m. by cries for help. Looking out from his home, he said he saw Mrs. Meek standing beside her home, but before he could get outside she had dashed back into her home. Mrs. Meek's body was found near a bed containing two of the children and the third child's body was in another bed. It was thought an overheated oil heater may have caused the fire, which burned the mobile home to the ground, with the metal exterior being melted due to the extreme heat. Sgt. Hall was reported to have received burns about the head in his rescue attempt.
Mrs. Meek was born June 1, 1942, and attended Galesburg schools. She was married Aug. 20, 1959, in Galesburg, to Ralph Meek, whose stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Tyler, reside at Pine, Mo. Mrs. Meek attended the Christian Church. Surviving are the husband and her parents.
