Mrs. Emma (Sheifer) Berringer, aged 78 yrs., widow of Pittman Berringer, died at her home in Green township, near Uniontown, on February 3, with a complication of diseases. Mrs. Berringer was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sheifer, and was born in Harrisburg on April 27, 1859. She lived in Green township nearly 60 years. These five sons and two daughters survive her: Lawrence Berringer, of Alverda; Roy Berringer, at home; Ralph Berringer, of Commodore; Ford Berringer, of Cherry Tree, and Ivan Berringer, of Uniontown; Mrs. Effie Garman, of State College, and Mrs. Leona Baker, of St. Benedict. Surviving sisters and brothers are Mrs. Nettie Cross, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; Mrs. Amanda Coleman, of Wasta, S. D., and Mrs. Clara Clouse, of Cainsville, Mo.; Harvey and Elsie Sheifer, of Clearfield, And Harry Sheifer, of Indiana. Services were held in the Church of Christ, at Uniontown, on Friday afternoon by Evangelist Robert Woodrow, and burial was made in Uniontown Cemetery.
