Rev. Orrin Abbott was the son of John and Susanna (Meacham) Abbott, Jr. Sarah Maria (Lee) Abbott was his 1st wife. Sarah died October 6, 1847. Mrs. Caroline Ide Abbott was his 3rd wife. Caroline died in 1872. Rev. Abbott was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference 1829 F1831 Located 1836 Readmitted Genesee Conference 1837 Located 1849. Rev. Abbott served Lewiston, Niagara Co., Buffalo District, NY Methodist Episcopal Church in 1830. He served during the War of 1812.

--He "participated in every important battle on the northern frontier from Fort Erie to Plattsburgh. At the Battle of Lundy's Lane he was one of the body guards of General Brown."
